Your epic journey will begin with a day in Buenos Aires where you’ll have a little time to explore the city before heading off to Ushuaia, the southern-most city in the world. Go hiking and paddling in Tierra del Fuego National Park marveling at the bird life along the way.
Next, you’ll spend a few days in the El Calafate glacier region. Here you’ll get to discover the Perito Moreno Glacier and Upsala Glacier. You’ll also settle in for a couple of nights at the incredible Estancia Cristina where you can enjoy outdoor activities like horse riding and hiking.

The Faena Buenos Aires is a striking design hotel in the waterside neighborhood of Puerto Madero, the brainchild of local empresario Alan Faena and designer Philippe Starck.
The hotel is located in the restored El Porteño building, an enormous silo built in 1902 that produced grain for post-war Europe. The decor encapsulates the grandeur of the belle epoque that characterised Buenos Aires at the turn of last centrury. A red, black and white colour scheme runs through the hotel teamed with exposed brick walls and concrete pillars that hark back to its industrious past.

Tierra del Fuego National Park hiking and paddling tour
This full day tour begins with a three to four-hour trek through a beech forest, heading toward a wonderfully scenic point overlooking Lake Roca, Lagunas Verde and Negra, Rivers Ovando and Lapataia and Lapataia bay. Hiking through this beech forest you will be able to look for the Magellanic woodpecker, the largest in South America, Austral parakeets, black-chested buzzard eagles and Andean Condors.
After lunch in the camping area of Lake Roca and a briefing, you will take inflatable boats out onto the Ovando River, which flows, into the Green Lake, for one of the most beautiful views of the park. During this easy downstream ride, you will enjoy the crystal-clear, quiet waters into Lapataia Bay. Along the way you may encounter sea birds flying over, looking curiously at you: sea petrels, albatross, and steamer ducks, among others. Relax and enjoy the early southern sunset behind the mountains at the end of the southernmost reaches of the Panamerican Road, at the end of the world, before transferring back to Ushuaia by car.
Half day Beagle Channel cruise
Board a comfortable catamaran to sail into the Beagle Channel, taking in the passing scenery of mountains and the Martial Glacier. Round the historic lighthouse Les Eclaireurs and spot rocky islands with seals, sea lions, cormorants, giant petrels and many other species of sea-birds jostling for space.
Train to the End of the World
This, one of the two narrow-gauge tracks left in Argentina - the Ferrocarril Austral Fueguino- used to ferry prisoners from the island’s prison into the National Park to fell and chop trees. The “Trencito de los Presos”, the Little train of the Prisoners departs from the Fueguino railway station with the stationmaster’s shrill whistle and steams slowly along the Pipo river until it reaches the Macarena waterfalls. A native Indian camp can be viewed at this point, recreated on the basis of evidence provided by today’s descendants of the tribes as well as documentation left by the early settlers. The train continues into the National Park with its stunning views of Monte Susana, the Martial Glacier and the large swamp where the relics of the prisoners’ logging tasks can still be seen.

Eolo sits on a 10,000-acre estancia in the Patagonian steppe between the town of El Calafate and the majestic Perioto Merino glacier.
The hotel has been built to ensure that wherever you are, you can take in these incredible views. Eolo is centred around a courtyard garden, a nifty bit of architecture that means guests can enjoy the great outdoors whilst being protected from the wild Patagonian winds.
There are 17 beautiful rooms characterised by pastel colours and simple lines. Nothing is overly complicated here, simplicity is key when your surroundings are so dramatic. There are no televisions in the rooms, instead guests are encouraged to curl up on one of the sofas that are placed in front of the large picture windows. Two days exploring the Glacier Region around El Calafate

This is a full day's tour of the magnificent Perito Moreno National Park and its humbling glacier complete with private 4WD vehicle and one of our expert guides.
Beginning with a scenic drive through the National Park followed by an guided-tour along the specially built in walkways facing the glacier, various optional additions can be made to this tour such as the nautical boat safari, minitrekking or Big Ice trekking. Full-day tour of the Upsala glacier and Estancia Cristina
This is a full day’s excursion to see both fronts of the Upsala Glacier, and a well-rounded tour that takes you through lakes and canals to local museums and ice shelters, with the odd adventure activity, to truly embrace the adventure and natural wonders of this region.
Boarding a modern charter boat at the Punta Bandera port you will begin your expedition at around 8.15am with a calm sail among the imposing icebergs and dramatic scenery of the western front of the Upsala glacier. Gliding through the Cristina Canal you will disembark at the Estancia Cristina where there will be a choice of activities from quad biking to horse riding to pass the afternoon including a delicious lunch at the ranch restaurant. For the remainder of the afternoon there is a guided visit to the Costumbrista museum followed by an exciting ascent in all-terrain vehicles through the mountainous roads to arrive at the Continental ice shelter. This is quite a spectacle and deserves a 30-minute walk to take in the vistas and sheer wonder of it. The eastern side of the Upsala Glacier will be the final leg of your excursion by boat on Lake Guillermo.

Accessed by crossing the Cristina Channel of Lago Argentino by boat, Estancia Cristina enjoys a truly stunning setting. The journey to the lodge allows excellent viewing of the Upsala Glacier, one of the largest in the region, and once you arrive you are treated to views of the majestic Norte, Pfister and Moyano mountains.

Estancia Puema Hue is a beautiful lodge nestled in the heart of Nahuel Huapa National Park – the country’s first and largest national park. This really is one of our absolute favorite properties in all of Argentina.
The lodge is set within 500 acres of wilderness at the southern end of Lake Gutlerrez. The landscape is one of rolling hills, pristine forest, valleys, waterfalls and creeks. Estancia Peuma Hue means ‘house of dreams’ in local Mapuche language and we certainly think it’s a very special place.
There are 14 rooms spread across five houses, all with views of the lake. Decor throughout the lodge is very traditional with wooden floors and beams, local textiles and warm colours. There are even fireplaces in the living rooms of each house. Poplar House is the main house of the estancia and as well as having rooms, it is also where meals are served. Food is a real treat here with many of the ingredients grown in their own kitchen garden and orchard.
Alternatively, choose to stay in one of their luxury yurts. These canvas yurts are 16ft in diameter and are set on rasied decks. They feature king-sized beds and en-suite bathrooms, and are a wonderful way to really immerse yourself in the natural surroundings.
There is so much to do during your stay at Estancia Puema Hue, from hiking, horse riding and kayaking to fishing, birdwatching and yoga. Children are very welcome here so this is a wonderful choice for active families.

Llao Llao is one of the most famous hotels in South America. Set on an outcrop of the Llao Llao peninsula, it enjoys a dramatic setting surrounded by the Cerro Lopez and Tronador mountain peaks and the Moreno and Nahuel Huapi lakes.

The Faena Buenos Aires is a striking design hotel in the waterside neighborhood of Puerto Madero, the brainchild of local empresario Alan Faena and designer Philippe Starck.
The hotel is located in the restored El Porteño building, an enormous silo built in 1902 that produced grain for post-war Europe. The decor encapsulates the grandeur of the belle epoque that characterised Buenos Aires at the turn of last centrury. A red, black and white colour scheme runs through the hotel teamed with exposed brick walls and concrete pillars that hark back to its industrious past.
Rooms and suites are filled with eye catching touches such as hand embroidered throws and filifree mirrors and feature huge windows which look out over Ecological Reserve, the parks, Río de la Plata and the quaysides of Puerto Madero.
Eating and drinking at the Faena is a real treat. Your epic journey will begin with a day in Buenos Aires where you’ll have a little time to explore the city before heading off to Ushuaia, the southern-most city in the world. Go hiking and paddling in Tierra del Fuego National Park marveling at the bird life along the way. Next, you’ll spend a few days in the El Calafate glacier region. Here you’ll get to discover the Perito Moreno Glacier and Upsala Glacier. You’ll also settle in for a couple of nights at the incredible Estancia Cristina where you can enjoy outdoor activities like horse riding and hiking. After that you’ll head off to the beautiful hiking destination El Chalten where the programme will be perfectly suited to your interests. The wonderfully scenic Lake District is the next stop where there are activities like mountain biking, boat trips, guided treks and fishing to fill your days. | Tierra del Fuego National Park hiking and paddling tour This full day tour begins with a three to four-hour trek through a beech forest, heading toward a wonderfully scenic point overlooking Lake Roca, Lagunas Verde and Negra, Rivers Ovando and Lapataia and Lapataia bay. Hiking through this beech forest you will be able to look for the Magellanic woodpecker, the largest in South America, Austral parakeets, black-chested buzzard eagles and Andean Condors. After lunch in the camping area of Lake Roca and a briefing, you will take inflatable boats out onto the Ovando River, which flows, into the Green Lake, for one of the most beautiful views of the park. During this easy downstream ride, you will enjoy the crystal-clear, quiet waters into Lapataia Bay. Along the way you may encounter sea birds flying over, looking curiously at you: sea petrels, albatross, and steamer ducks, among others. Relax and enjoy the early southern sunset behind the mountains at the end of the southernmost reaches of the Panamerican Road, at the end of the world, before transferring back to Ushuaia by car. |

| Train to the End of the World This, one of the two narrow-gauge tracks left in Argentina - the Ferrocarril Austral Fueguino- used to ferry prisoners from the island’s prison into the National Park to fell and chop trees. The “Trencito de los Presos”, the Little train of the Prisoners departs from the Fueguino railway station with the stationmaster’s shrill whistle and steams slowly along the Pipo river until it reaches the Macarena waterfalls. A native Indian camp can be viewed at this point, recreated on the basis of evidence provided by today’s descendants of the tribes as well as documentation left by the early settlers. The train continues into the National Park with its stunning views of Monte Susana, the Martial Glacier and the large swamp where the relics of the prisoners’ logging tasks can still be seen. |

| Full-day tour of the Upsala glacier and Estancia Cristina This is a full day’s excursion to see both fronts of the Upsala Glacier, and a well-rounded tour that takes you through lakes and canals to local museums and ice shelters, with the odd adventure activity, to truly embrace the adventure and natural wonders of this region. Boarding a modern charter boat at the Punta Bandera port you will begin your expedition at around 8.15am with a calm sail among the imposing icebergs and dramatic scenery of the western front of the Upsala glacier. Gliding through the Cristina Canal you will disembark at the Estancia Cristina where there will be a choice of activities from quad biking to horse riding to pass the afternoon including a delicious lunch at the ranch restaurant. For the remainder of the afternoon there is a guided visit to the Costumbrista museum followed by an exciting ascent in all-terrain vehicles through the mountainous roads to arrive at the Continental ice shelter. This is quite a spectacle and deserves a 30-minute walk to take in the vistas and sheer wonder of it. The eastern side of the Upsala Glacier will be the final leg of your excursion by boat on Lake Guillermo. |
