This trip has been expertly designed for those that want to experience the sublime landscapes of South America’s southern tip, a real adventure to Argentina and Chile‘s Southern Patagonia with luxurious lodgings to retire to after a day exploring the wilderness.

The tour starts with an introduction to Argentina, with a stay in the splendid and vibrant city of Buenos Aires. We will then take you down to crumbling Perito Moreno Glacier and across the border to explore Torres del Paine National Park, considered one of the most beautiful areas in the world, before you embark on a four night navigation of the straits of Magellan and the Beagle Channel around Cape Horn to Ushuaia.

You’ll be mesmerised by the glacial displays towards the south of Argentina and Chile, and experience some of the most incredible wildlife displays at the end of the earth.

Boarding at the Punta Arenas, the ship will set sail for your journey to "the ends of the earth" at around 6pm that evening with a welcome drinks and reception given by the captain and crew before dinner.

Sailing through the night, by dawn the ship will have reached the Almirantazgo Sound, arriving at Ainsworth Bay in the Alberto de Agostini National Park. From here, if the weather conditions are right – you will be able to see the Marinelli Glacier tumbling down the Darwin Mountain Range and your guides will explain how life begins after the retreat of the ice. Disembarking the ship there will be a walk to the Beaver Dam through the spectacular subpolar Magellanic forest to a beach to observe elephant seals (depending on the colony’s location that day). Boarding the ship again you will sail through the Tuckers Islets and after lunch Zodiac boats will take you to see the Magellanic Penguins and Cormorants.
(In September and April this last excursion is replaced by a tour to Brookes Bay and short walk to the glacier).

The morning will be spent navigating the Beagle Channel to reach the Pia Fjord to disembark near the Pia Glacier for a short hike to a lookout point with fantastic views of the glacier tongue stretching from mountain to sea. The remainder of the afternoon will be spent gliding through the northwest arm of the Beagle Channel and majestic Glacier Alley.

Today your cruise takes you from Cape Horn to the Wulaia Bay. Through the morning you will sail through the Murray Channel and Nassau Bay to reach Cape Horn National Park where you will disembark (weather permitting) to discover this important and mythical navigation route between the Pacific and Atlantic discovered in 1616. With its sheer 425m high rock headland this park was declared a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. After lunch there will be an on-land excursion at the historic Wulaia Bay, the site of the largest Yamana aboriginal settlements and where Charles Darwin landed in 1833 during the voyage of HMS Beagle. Known for its mesmerizing topography and fauna there will be walk through the Magellanic forest of lengas, coihues, canelos, and ferns to reach a lookout point to marvel at the surrounding dramatic scenery.

Docking at the Argentinean port city of Ushuaia at approximately 8am, you will disembark the ship here for the next step of your trip.
